Qatar Airways targets more Australian flights by June 2025
Oct 30, 2024, 10:15 PMMy guess is A350-1000 will be used for the second Sydney flight as QR906/907 (VA flight number) as it was pre-Covid. Brisbane will have 2x 777W, Melbourne will be a mix of 777W and A350-1000 considering it will have 3 flights a day. For the Melbourne flights, 3 daily will be a huge boost see...

Frequent flyer dismay as Emirates axes this Australian route
Sep 09, 2024, 05:12 PMI think they have enough because I noticed the MEL-LA flights have been on the A380 more days a week. Hopefully Melbourne’s Qantas A380 operations get restored.

Frequent flyer dismay as Emirates axes this Australian route
Sep 09, 2024, 01:13 PMEmirates should add a third daily nonstop service to Melbourne possibly on a 777 instead of A380, with new a flight time. Maybe an afternoon departure out of Melbourne would be nice.

Qatar Airways brings its A380 back to Perth
Sep 13, 2022, 06:05 PMExactly and Qatar have only 2 A380s left in storage, which will be used for the DOH-PER. London uses 2, Paris uses 1, Bangkok uses 2 and Sydney uses 2, (Perth will now use 2), 1 is used as spare (All 10 will be active by December). The only way for Melbourne to come in the mix is for Qatar to fre...

Qatar Airways brings its A380 back to Perth
Sep 13, 2022, 05:57 PMSydney won't get a 2x daily flight because Melbourne is going to get it. The flight that goes to Canberra went via Sydney pre-pandemic but they have agreed to go via Melbourne instead. So Sydney/Perth 1x daily A380, while Melbourne will be 2x daily 77W. Makes sense.

Emirates to discontinue Melbourne to Singapore
Sep 09, 2024, 01:25 PMEmirates should add a third daily nonstop service to Melbourne possibly on a A380, with new a flight time (maybe an afternoon departure out of Melbourne would be nice matching the afternoon Qatar & Etihad flights), and then a afternoon arrival similar to Sydney's EK416 flight. Melbourne to Du...

Jan 08, 2023, 03:24 PMAnyone have any idea on when Qantas will resume A380 flights between Melbourne and LA? It was rumoured to reappear last year in December. I've checked flights between Melbourne-LA and it still shows 787 for the entire year (2023). I plan on flying to Toronto from Melbourne via LAX in September an...

A380s back to Australia
Jul 03, 2022, 07:25 PMWith Australia qualifying to Word Cup, it seems as though Qatar is increasing capacity on its Australian routes. Anyone know when Qatar might reinstate the A380 to other Australian cities like Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane? Sydney had the return of the A380 on June 1st.
