Perhaps I missed an announcement, but CX seems to have eliminated the four per week CX150 BNE-HKG daylight flight from their schedule from end Mar 2020. Thus reducing BNE-HKG from 11 to 7 per week. Was this announced ? Thanks.

Hi Concorde, those four extra non-stop flights per week usually only operate in what airlines call the 'Northern Winter' schedule: that is, October to March each year. Previously, those flights were year-round and simply toggled from going via Cairns in off-peak periods and non-stop in peak, but now with Cairns removed from Cathay's network (the last flight was a month or two ago now), they just toggle them on and off as demand dictates (which usually means running them through Northern Winter which is of course Australian summer and a peak time for Aussies to be heading overseas).

These four extra flights appear again in Cathay Pacific's schedule from late October 2020.

Looks like CX150 gets bumped up to an A350 as well when it returns in October....Nice...

Thanks for that Chris. I was looking at booking a trip to Barcelona in late May. When CX 150 was operating the trip took 29 hours BNE-BCN. Without it, their schedules (for some reason) only show 2 stop options via MEL and SYD with elapsed times ranging from 31 to 45 hours. There are better solutions than that ! SQ for one.
